Privacy policy
In short
Focalwise collects no personal data. It needs no account, contains no advertising, analytics or tracking code, and never sends your camera frames, saved kit or calculation inputs anywhere. Everything the app knows about you stays on your device.
What stays on your device
Your camera and lens selections, favourites, custom gear, meter calibrations, tool inputs and settings are stored only in the app's own container on your device. Deleting the app removes them. Focalwise provides no account, backup or synchronisation service of its own; if you back up your device with Apple, that backup is governed by Apple's terms.
Camera
If you choose a phone reading on the Meter, Focalwise asks for camera access in order to measure light. Frames are read in memory and discarded immediately; they are never saved, uploaded or shown to anyone. Manual readings need no camera permission. You can change camera access at any time in the Settings app.
Optional tips
Focalwise is free and every tool stays free. If you choose to leave a tip, Apple processes the purchase through the App Store under Apple's privacy policy. We never see your payment details. The app uses Apple's transaction information only to complete the tip and thank you; it keeps no record of who has tipped.
This website
This site is a few static pages with no cookies, scripts or analytics. It is served by Cloudflare, whose servers log requests (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and protect the service, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not receive or keep those logs.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive what you choose to send: your address, your message and any attachments. We use it only to reply and to fix what you reported, and we delete the correspondence twelve months after it is resolved. Please do not send sensitive information, private images or camera frames. To have your messages deleted sooner, ask at the address above.
Children
Focalwise is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Because the app collects nothing, there is no personal data for us to show, correct or erase other than any email you have sent us. Write to the contact above to see or delete it.
Changes
If these practices change, we will update this page and its date. The current version is always at this address.
